Hello

Thank you for looking at my blog. My latest passion is applique which I have been doing since 2015. I love making things and learning new crafts On this blog you will see some of the things I have been working on. You will also see wonderful items created by other people. When I am not crafting I enjoy being with family and friends, singing and family history. My favourite place in the whole world is anywhere by the sea and I have to get my fix every few weeks. My favourite colour is PURPLE but I love turquoise too!

The Bakery Project

Here is my painting of rusty gates which is part of the Bakery Project exhibition at the West Cork Hotel. We visited the site of the old bakery which is to become the new arts centre and took photos. I was fascinated by the gates and wondered who had made them and what tales were being told at the forge while they were being made. The bakery has now been demolished but luckily that gates have been saved and will have a new lease of life. It was great to capture a moment in time in a place with such a sense of history.

Florish

I had great fun with the Arts for an Active Mind group making a felt wall hanging. We made 3d flowers and then made the wall hanging. The whole piece is about 6ft tall and is hanging in the foyer of Skibbereen Library at the moment. The best bit was when about twelve of us were working on the background and to get them to put more pressure on the bubble wrap I suggested they imagined that they were giving George Clooney a back massage. You can imagine the results!

Whitstable beach

I found these ocean fossil jasper beads and they reminded me so much of all the happy times at Whitstable. I decided that they had to go to Maggi as I had lots of laughs there with her. I used the weave technique and used silver freshwater beads between the two sizes of jasper.
