Hello

Thank you for looking at my blog. My latest passion is applique which I have been doing since 2015. I love making things and learning new crafts On this blog you will see some of the things I have been working on. You will also see wonderful items created by other people. When I am not crafting I enjoy being with family and friends, singing and family history. My favourite place in the whole world is anywhere by the sea and I have to get my fix every few weeks. My favourite colour is PURPLE but I love turquoise too!

Finger Painting

I have been busy using a palette knife again in my "Summer Meadows" painting. I wasn't too happy with the result so Paul suggested I throw away the knives and use my fingers. Here is the finished painting. It will be shown as part of our art group show at The West Cork Hotel from 14th May until 7th June.

Finger painting was invented just for me, it is SO messy and satisfying.

"Crazy Johnny and the "Domestic Goddess"

I cannot claim that these cushions are mine. I did help though. I unpicked the old seat cushion then my friend Joan, aka the Domestic Goddess, cut it out and started putting it together. It was finished off by Johnny English, aka Crazy Johnny. Joan did the small cushions.

The chair will now will look great with my new three piece suite. Thanks to you both xx

Purple socks for Jess

It has been great fun trying out different hand dyed sock yarns in the search for the perfect pair of purple socks for Jess. One pair knitted, one half finished and two more skeins to go.

Which will she choose? I love the 2nd skein, the greens and purples because it has got gold sparkle in it!

I need a new jumper

I made this jumper for Sam and he has been wearing it since he was nine months old. He is now nearly two and as you can see it is a now a bit snug. I have promised him a new one.

Pathway 6

The latest in my Pathway to Heaven series is finished and ready for the Weavers Guild exhibition in May. Will this be the last? Who knows? Everytime I go to Trag the sea is different. All I know is that I love working with oils and then seeing what happens.

Before that though I am going to do a new woven piece for the first work as that now looks far too "blocky" to me.

Welcome Eve

I have a new cousin to add to my family tree. Time then to make some more baby cards. I used up some of the leftover sock yarn to knit the tiny jumpers and used my 2.5mm sock sticks for the knitting.

Cunnamore View

I finally got round to buying Photoshop Elements 11 and I have enjoyed playing with it. This is my first attempt using the artistic mode. I used the Poster Edges setting for this one. Don't look too closely at the sky. I removed the telephone lines but I am still  wobbly with the blemish healing brush so I have to do lots more practice. GREAT FUN!

Scrumptious Skeins

I enjoyed knitting with the Prism Delacato tencel yarn so much that I have ordered three more skeins. Which one will I use first? I will ask my lovely Sis to choose as I am going to make her a scarf. The colours from left to right are Fog, Merlot and Ocean. This is a reasonable photo of them but the colours are even more intense.
