Hello

Thank you for looking at my blog. My latest passion is applique which I have been doing since 2015. I love making things and learning new crafts On this blog you will see some of the things I have been working on. You will also see wonderful items created by other people. When I am not crafting I enjoy being with family and friends, singing and family history. My favourite place in the whole world is anywhere by the sea and I have to get my fix every few weeks. My favourite colour is PURPLE but I love turquoise too!

Galway Memories

We had a wonderful week by the sea in Connemara. The house was just across the road from Coral Strand. There was a little porch on the front and I could knit and see the sea from the three windows. Not much knitting got done but I did lots of shell collecting. I have made some baubles to hang on my twigs. I used some of my bead stash, some shells and a few pearls to add some glitter. I think I will make lots of these as presents for Christmas.

Must go to the sea again..............

Y match

My father's DNA has just been tested to see who he matches on his YDNA Sullivan Prettie line. We have a match to a family in Australia. They are coming to visit in a few weeks. I have made a welcome to West Cork necklace. The fuchsia is our symbol. I used a yellow one as it reminds me of the gorse and the lovely lampwork beads have the mountain and moss colours in them.
 Hope Kathy likes it.

Barley Cove

My weaving is finished! I used some words from Jill's lovely piece of writing. She did this to mark my BIG birthday and it is about me sitting at Barley Cove. The shells are from Cunnamore and there is a pearl to mark each decade. There is another pearl in a tiny shell and this represents my hopes and dreams for the next decade - making memories with the people I love (by the sea!).  I must now get it framed in a box frame so it will be ready to display at the first Sheep's Head Yarn Festival.

Yum, yum yarns

I fell in love with these yarns and it was just my luck they were on sale! I see some cowls and a shawl scarf being knitted for the winter. Which colour do I like best???

The sea, the sea, always the sea

I had a great weekend by the sea at Derrynane in Kerry. I managed to get the loopy wrap finished and couldn't resist taking some photos. I took it to show my singing group and now we need 12 scarves in these colours. better start knitting!

Loopy Wrap

I am really enjoying knitting with this King Cole yarn. It is garter stitch using size 15mm needles so it grows very very quickly. The wrap will only take 2 balls so it is very good value. All we need now is a good summer so I can wear it at all those outside concerts.
