Hello
Thank you for looking at my blog. My latest passion is applique which I have been doing since 2015. I love making things and learning new crafts On this blog you will see some of the things I have been working on. You will also see wonderful items created by other people. When I am not crafting I enjoy being with family and friends, singing and family history. My favourite place in the whole world is anywhere by the sea and I have to get my fix every few weeks. My favourite colour is PURPLE but I love turquoise too!

Dyed in the wool
I had my first experience of dyeing wool with the spinners at Gwen's gorgeous home. I chose to use a sock blank and put one end in the cobalt blue dye and the other in the orange dye. Where the two colours met there is a greeny shade. I have now ripped the blank and I have two identical balls of wool to knit two socks. Where there were two strands together the inside of the strands have not taken so much dye so I got a speckled effect. I am going to call the socks my "Summer Sunset over a Stormy Sea Socks".
Postcards
I was asked to contribute an A5 postcard sized painting to an exhibition to raise funds. I wonder what I will paint?
Purple person
I used some grey Botswana agate and some silver stardust beads to make a necklace. Jenny teamed it with her new purple outfit and I think it brings out the purples in the stones beautifully. Jenny has a real eye for colour.
Turquoise Bling
I loved these crystal beads but thought they needed toning down just a bit so I used the weave technique again and added freshwater pearls.
Sherbet Pips
These little quartz beads reminded me of the sweets we used to have. I used the weave technique to make a necklace for Clare. I think she will like the colours and she can wear it on her holiday to Turkey.
