Fabric Printing

I have been doing a course with Sarah at Skibbereen Library.

We have been using foam board and a pencil to create a printing block.

 We mixed some acrylic paint with some fabric stabiliser (50/50) painted it onto a sheet of acrylic, rolled that paint unto the block then pressed the block unto the fabric and held it under a book for a few minutes. Peel off (carefully!) and hey presto printed fabric.

 Leave to dry for a few days then iron on the reverse, wash the fabric to set the paint and iron again.

You are then ready to bead, stitch or whatever.

Think I will enjoy playing with this technique.

 

 

Sheeps Head Yarn Festival

I had a great weekend at the yarn festival. We stayed at a wonderful B&B called Galan Mor.

 I caught up with all my yarny friends, practiced my spindle spinning, and my weaving, talked to lots of new people, learned new things

Bought some yarn and 

Also had wonderful meals at Arundels.
