Hello

Thank you for looking at my blog. My latest passion is applique which I have been doing since 2015. I love making things and learning new crafts On this blog you will see some of the things I have been working on. You will also see wonderful items created by other people. When I am not crafting I enjoy being with family and friends, singing and family history. My favourite place in the whole world is anywhere by the sea and I have to get my fix every few weeks. My favourite colour is PURPLE but I love turquoise too!

In the Gloaming

The colours in this sparkly sock yarn from Sheena at Lammingtonlass remind me of that twilight time you get in the winter. This sock yarn is so pretty that it seemed a shame to make socks that would be hidden most of the time. You knit the lace border first then pick up the stitches on the border to make the hand.

My Aunt made this

I have finished the twisted cowl for Katie. It will keep her warm in Dublin and in Budapest.

Sam's Heritage Jumper

I made this pattern for Sam when he was six months old. It is now far too small for him so this is his second heritage jumper. The wool comes from Scandinavia just like his grandfathers ancestors, the jumper was knitted in Ireland which is where his grandmothers ancestors are from and the buttons are from his great great aunt Florrie's button box. Hope it keeps you cosy Sam.
