Hello

Thank you for looking at my blog. My latest passion is applique which I have been doing since 2015. I love making things and learning new crafts On this blog you will see some of the things I have been working on. You will also see wonderful items created by other people. When I am not crafting I enjoy being with family and friends, singing and family history. My favourite place in the whole world is anywhere by the sea and I have to get my fix every few weeks. My favourite colour is PURPLE but I love turquoise too!

A Riot of Colour

I had a great weekend with the Handweavers Guild playing with colour. Pascale gave us an excellent lecture on colour and then we were away. I was drawn to all those gorgeous purples but decided to stick with the blues and see which colours gave me a good sea. What really surprised me was how the very bright green and the lilac colours I used blended with the blues to give the sea more life. I did not get my piece finished but I came away some yarn and lots of ideas.

Some of the yarn we got to work with

Pascale has this on one of her looms

Finished Object

My FIRST piece of crochet is finally a FO. I am really pleased with the end result. It took me about half a day to decide which edging I would use but in the end I went for the very simple double V which I think suits the simplicity of the pattern. I took it to the Mizen for its first outing yesterday. Now lots of Japanese Flowers to make.

Blocking

I had a helper to block my knee blanket and he did a very good job. I managed to get six interlocking camping mats from Lidl and they are ideal for the job. It was well worth the time and effort involved to block it after all the hard work making it.
