Time for the Beach

The only thing to do on dark drizzly days is to think of summer and going to the beach. I did two small stitchings to remind me of the lovely days I spent on Whitstable beach. I think I might do some more of these but next time do the sea in layers as the top half is a little plain.

 I learnt a new stitch for the one with the bunting. Down in the bottom right hand corner is wheat stitch done in green. I will try some larger upright versions of the stitch in gold on my next flower filled meadows stitchings.

 

 

Almond Blossom

I saw lots of wonderful almond blossom trees on my trip to Spain. The mountains were a haze of pink and because the trees flowered at different times at different altitudes there was blossom for about six weeks.  One of these photos is going to be made into  a stitching.

 

 

Vinuela Sew'n'Sews

I was lucky enough to find a stitching group in Vinuela. They made me very welcome and I learn't lots. I want to have a go at ice dyeing this summer to create my own fabrics as backgrounds for my stitchings. Here is some of their works in progress.

Visiting Kitty Harri

Kitty is a mosiac artist who has a wonderful sculpture garden in the mountains near Granada in Southern Spain. We spent a wonderful day there and came home with lots of ideas. We would have loved to do one of her mosiac workshops but we didn't think we would be able to get it back on the plane.
