Hello

Thank you for looking at my blog. My latest passion is applique which I have been doing since 2015. I love making things and learning new crafts On this blog you will see some of the things I have been working on. You will also see wonderful items created by other people. When I am not crafting I enjoy being with family and friends, singing and family history. My favourite place in the whole world is anywhere by the sea and I have to get my fix every few weeks. My favourite colour is PURPLE but I love turquoise too!

Easter Celebrations

I have been busy making some more rag wreaths. I made one in pinks and purples, turquoise and teal and a nautical one in red white and blue. They are fun to make and I think the finished wreath looks very effective.

Lunasa

I have completed another stitching. This one was inspired by the wonderful work of the printmaker Angie Lewin. I am very pleased with the way the teasels have turned out. I called it Lunasa after the Celtic harvest festival. I have memories of lying in the long grass in Bandon when I was about nine. I could stay watching the clouds for hours. I have now started on an early summer one and have an idea for how a February and a November  one might look. I have so many ideas for stitchings I want to do that I am in danger of not doing anything else. Have I found my "passion"????

The Rain in Spain

We spent a wonderful few weeks in Spain and the rain did not fall at all! I had expected to get lots of things completed but it did not work out that way as I was distracted by almond blossom. I joined the knitters at Yarn Power and Nerja Needles and it was lovely to catch up with everyone again. I had a wonderful afternoon with the Nerja Needlers in Sandra's garden and it was one of those days that you wanted to bottle. I took my sock knitting out and about and I got lots of compliments on the wonderful colour, people were fascinated by the way the yarn changed colour.

I did manage to learn how to do a C2C or corner to corner blanket. I used YouTube to start me off. I am now at the decreasing stage so that should be finished fairly quickly. I want to do the next one in a lovely soft merino using the variation that Ty showed me.

And the almond blossom........ I just love it. we had to keep stopping so I could take another photo and another and another. I want to do a stitching based on almond trees in the mountains but for now I have completed a cowl for Katie. I used the King Cole Galaxy yarn which is very soft with sequins. It comes in a gorgeous range of colours.

Another first for me was a manicure and I hope you like the way my nail polish matches my knitting!
