The roses are not quite out yet but I have to get ahead of myself as I want to give this stitching to Marion. Marion and I had great fun making rose water when we were young and we still talk about it now. I don't think we ever had a batch that was successful because we kept forgetting about it!
Jo helped me with the centre of the rose as it was looking a bit flat and needed texture. She suggested doing lots of petals. I then did a bit of research on how to stitch stamens and these too looked a bit flat. I suddenly remembered that when my French knots went wrong it left loops of thread so I did lots of wrong French knots.
I want to complete another one for Di and a larger version too. Lots of slow, slow, slow stitching this summer.
